Thank you all!

The donations have been a tremendous help and nearly paid for all of the gas round trip. Again, thanks for the support.

Reducing meds

It's time to let his head clear up from all the meds we have been giving him.

The weekends are laid back with not much to do.  It just a hurry up and wait game now.  Talked to the first person on scene yesterday, apparently even as they were loading him into the heli he was anxious to get going. So you can only imagine how bad he wants to go home now.  Again thank you all for your amazing support.  It has made a stressful situation tolerable.

Finally got the VA worked out.

Things are starting to look promising. He was registered in the wrong county as well as dealing with a two year backlog.

Might be out by the beginning of next week

Looks as if he has improved enough to get out sooner than expected!

Still a bit of memory loss

We may be looking at about a week to get him out of here unless we can get his VA stuff handled sooner.  Having no VA history makes things difficult.  He has a ways to go before we get him back to normal. Having little use of his hands and not remembering what happened really fustrates him.  Head trama patients are usually restraned at night. I have prevented that and they installed a bed alarm instead.  That is mainly to make sure  he won't pass out from head rushes from standing up too fast. I refuse to let them take his freedom away! I'm spending the night with him to make sure he feels safe when he wakes up.  If he had a primary doctor, I could have gotten him out of here within days.

He can now remember within two hours before the crash

I don't think we need any more photos. Remembering people was not an issue. Where and when was but that is starting to come back.

Next stop therapy

I'm off doing his laundry. Talking to insurance folks ect while they transfer him.  Hope fully he can recover fast but as of right now we are looking at ten days at the therapy wing of which may not get covered.  I will be getting VA info in couple hours.

Brain bucket

Surgery went well.

He's eating well now and will be transfered to the therapy wing today. Visitors are welcomed. He has his phone but its powered off untill I get his charger to him. He will be there for another ten days or less.

Our best guess is that heat, dehydration and altitude may have been the cause.

ALL ITEMS RECOVERED

Apparently there is a couple of trash bags of stuff that we neglected to grab from the tow co.

<p>He should be getting out of surgery now

We have a place to stay

As requested..  I have posted a paypal donation button.  I have direct access to this account via a debt card.
A humble thanks in advance. Every little bit of support we have received so far has been excellent.  I thank you all.

I also managed to git his credit card unlocked and Wess has found us a place to stay.

Surgery around 3 pm

The memories are really starting to come back.  No need for the photos he remembers everyone. Dates and times are the only issue.  Everything looks promising

Dropped off some gatorade and beef jerkey

He is asleep.

GP is doing wery well all things considered

So  I will get to the bad news first.

Two broken wrist...   Hospital had to fly in a special plate thus delaying surgery for a day.
Possible broken ribs
Small factures in a couple vertebra....   mostly those little bones that hold the muscle in place.
Fractured cheek bone and black eyes.
Not sure if he is missing any new teeth.
Medi-vac from Columbus ,MT to Billings, MT at around 1pm Saturday
Short term memory loss. Giving him a mirror helped him believe that he crashed.
A little bit on long term memory loss.
He is still piecing all of his memories together
Has no memory of the crash..   ( I will try to find out more from the MHP)
Sleeps a ton.

Now for the good news.
GP is hard to kill.
He can walk, talk, and stand even though he's not supposed to.
Staff has said that GP has been a pleasure to deal with. Still the class clown even though he's busted up.
Neck is fine.
He says his ribs don't hurt but that may be the drugs.
Everything below his ribs are fine.

THE HELMUT SAVED HIS LIFE!

So,  If you would like to help me out..   I need photos to jog his memory.  Please post a comment with a link to photos of rides ect...

Now for what I have planned.

See him off to surgery if I get there in time.
Chat with the Case Management Dept. about the VA info.
Get his phone back to him.   Please limit the calls for now as he will have a hard time holding the phone. Also  ,  The staff will not tell you anything if you call.... so, no need to waste their time. They are bound by law not to say anything to non kin.

I ended getting his credit card locked up due to fraud protection while buying gas on the way here.  I will try to get that unlocked as well.   I took his $240 out of his wallet and I have another card to get my backup driver "G-Man" and I by for a few days...

I am staying about 10 minutes out of Billings in Laurel ,MT  The state fair is this week and all hotels are booked and or at double rates in Billings, MT.

Feel free to text or call me,  my number is listed below.

If all goes well he might be released in under week.
His length of stay will determine whether or not I drive his bike back and fly him home.

I am doing fine...  I'm not the emotional type. Though I need sleep after 19.5 hours of driving.  Thank god for RED BULL!

More info tommarow.
